The RPAC is a voluntary, citizen-based council charged by the Metroplan Board with oversight of public participation in the preparation of plans, processes and policies; development of the long range metropolitan transportation and sustainability plan; and oversight and strategic implementation of the adopted plan.

RPAC membership is composed of representatives of Metroplan’s jurisdictions and a variety of interest groups. Interests represented on the RPAC includes (but is not necessarily limited to) neighborhoods, education, youth outreach, the environment and sustainability issues, business, trucking and freight, people with disabilities, the Latino community, and housing. Additionally, the AHTD and Rock Region Metro each has a representative on the Council.
