Central Arkansas EEI Focus Area 1: Build Regional Greenways and Preserve Open Space

Green Networks are defined as areas with ecological value that contribute to creating connected greenspaces for plants, wildlife, recreation, and active transportation like biking or walking. Regional greenways offer safe biking and walking routes to cities and neighborhoods that are otherwise only accessible by car. Bike and walking paths create a healthier, more connected community. Preserving and restoring green space can help manage stormwater and prevent floods, improve air quality, protect against extreme heat, beautify the region, and restore critical habitat.
