Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)

Metroplan, as the designated Metropolitan Planning Organization for Central Arkansas, is required to develop a Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The TIP is a list of upcoming transportation projects to be undertaken within the transportation study area over the next five years. The TIP includes surface transportation projects, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, and other transportation enhancements.  Metroplan develops the Central Arkansas Regional Transportation Study (CARTS) TIP in cooperation with the Arkansas Department of Transportation and Rock Region Metro.

Public Review and Comment
The public is invited to review and submit comments on two proposed amendments to the FY 2021 Central Arkansas Regional Transportation Study (CARTS) FY 2021-2024 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The amendments reflect revised and new line items to support Rock Region METRO operations.

Annual List of Obligated Projects (ALOP)

This publication presents a list of projects in the Central Arkansas Regional Transportation Study area for which Federal funds were obligated during Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2019 – October 1, 2018 through September 30, 2019 – on projects in the FFY 2019-22 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The TIP contains an estimate of the federal funds that will be needed for project phases to progress during a given fiscal year.
